James C. Ion passed away December 31, 2023, in Centralia, Washington, his home of 44 years. He was born March 7, 1943, to Hubert Joseph Ion and Frances Elizabeth Ion in Chicago, Illinois. Over the years, he also resided in St. John, Oregon; Rochester, Washington; and Naches, Washington. James served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He married Lisbeth Jean Brooks on July 2, 1971, in Portland, Oregon. Professionally, he worked for Puget Power and Light (1972-1998) and in a computer shop (2000-2003). He loved helping fix people’s computers, reading, cooking, and making candles. James is survived by his wife, Lisbeth J. Ion of Centralia; sisters, Fran Woolley of Vancouver, Washington, and Jeanie (Steve) Mastel of Oregon; nephew, Doug Woolley of Montana; and nieces, Dana Barden of Gresham, Oregon, Heather Hamlet of Vancouver, and Robin Gannon of Vancouver.
