David Adam Johnson
July 15th, 1940 - October 28th, 2014
Sunrise Sunset 07/15/1940 10/28/2014 Raised in Graham Washington, David attended Bethel High School. He joined the Navy in 1957, first serving on the U.S.S. Berry, then the U.S.S. Perry out of Newport, Rhode Island. Later, after volunteering for the submarine service, he served on the diesel submarines U.S.S. Crevalle and U.S.S. Tigerone, followed by recruiting duty In Tacoma WA. David attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer while serving aboard the USS Nautilus, and later taught at the Submarine School in Groton Ct., before reporting to the Robert E. Lee and then finally a short term on the U.S.S. Dace before retiring from the Navy in 1977. Not being one to sit still, he worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years, and after retiring from the Shipyard, worked for Olsen Brothers Chevrolet. Preceded in death by his mother and Father, David is survived by: brothers Jim Hatmaker and Randy Coffee; Wife of 55 years, Colleen; and Daughters Tammy (and Tracy), Renee (and Dave), Kendall (and Kia) and Family pet Sqweekers.
