Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Jacquelynn Jo Graham
December 22nd, 1943 - March 15th, 2016
Jackie was born on December 22nd, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She passed away on March 15th, 2016 in Gig Harbor, Washington. She was raised on a farm and attended country school. In December of 1955 the Herbst family moved to the Oregon coast where Jackie first attended the 8th grade at Yachats. She finished her education at Waldport High were she was well liked by all. She was a cheerleader and in the homecoming court. Mom was the proudest in her role with The Waldport Shamrocketts baton group which marched in the 50th Portland Rose Festival. Her niece Dusty Paul Blakenship marched in the 75th and two of her granddaughters, Nicole and Tiffany Costello, followed their grandmothers footsteps in cheerleading. Our mother had a beautiful voice and sang at many events. Her love of music and talent was passed on to her granddaughter Haley Hauser, who will be singing at her service. Jackie loved visiting Reno with friends, and trips to the Oregon coast with family. Many memories were made with her children and grandchildren cruising the roads and beaches where she grew up. One of mom's favorite trips had to be with her sister Donna Paul. The two sisters toured two of mom's favorite singer's homes, Loretta Lynn and Graceland; mom loved her Elvis! Of course, mom had a passion for America's pastime and you could frequently find her at a baseball field watching Carter, Adam, Kristelle, baby David, Matthew, Michael, Nicholas, Kaylee, and Braelyn Jo. She enjoyed the all-star games and the year her son Adam went to Michigan to play for the national title. You can bet she will be watching many more games from above. Mom told us that when she was a child, all she wanted to be when she grew up was a mother. She built her life around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She taught us by example how to be the best; her love was unconditional. Our mother was humble, unselfish, and always there when we needed her. She always gave her time, advise, talents, and opinion with love and kindness. Mother will forever be loved and missed. She is preceded in death by her father Victor and her mother Dorothy Herbst. Her sister Vicky Goodman and her nephew Carter Paul. She is survived by her children Misty and son in law Leonard Costello, Starla and son in law Matthew Hauser, Audie Graham, Adam Graham and daughter in law Lindsay Graham. Grandchildren: Kristelle, Nicole, Tiffany, and Kaylee Costello. Matthew, Michael, Nicholas, and Haley Hauser. McKenzie, Shyann, Braylen, Lucas, and Duncan Graham. Great grandchildren: Preston, Taylor and Misty Costello Andrews. Rylen Williams and Clara Seaborn. Sister Donna and brother in law Orland Paul. Nieces: Desi Calafiore and Dusty Paul Blakenship. Nephews: Stuart Goodman, Stormy Paul, and many cousins. Memorial service to be held Saturday March 26th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 12pm. 8002 Dorotich St. Gig Harbor, WA 98335
