William "Bill" Irl Boggess
August 29th, 1934 - September 16th, 2013
William Irl "Bill" Boggess, 79, died on September 16, 2013 with his family by his side after a long illness. William served in the United State Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1957. After discharge from the Air Force, he settled back in his hometown of Fort Ogden where he worked in construction for many years. The remainder of his working years was spent on the family farm growing citrus and working cattle. William was a lifetime member of the Fort Ogden Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion, Florida Farm Bureau and the Florida Cattleman's Association. William is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diane Boggess, as well as his children Richard (Annette) Boggess, Steven (Heather) Boggess, Julie (Dale) Johnson, David (Cheryl) Sunnarborg, Duane (Tara) Sunnarborg and Dawn Sunnarborg. He was also survived by sixteen (16) grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, Will Frank Boggess and Mavis Martin Boggess. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Janice (Jim) Brewer and Jean (Edward) Williams, and recently by his brother Robert "Del" (Nancy) Boggess. Visitation will be from 10-11:00AM on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Fort Ogden Baptist Church, 9500 SW Hull Avenue in Arcadia with the funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be at the Fort Ogden Cemetery immediately following the service. Please visit William's tribute wall at www.schelmfh.com to share memories and to send condolences to the Boggess family.
