Gladys Evangeline Rightmire went to be with our Lord on May 29th, 2014. She was 92. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Everett Rightmire, a sister Delores St. George and husband Eddy, her three daughters, Connie Bradford and Husband Randy, Jacki Probach and Husband Mike, Kim Wickizer and Husband Karl, and her five grandchildren, Shawna Vert and Heidi Probach, Bryan and Eric Wickizer, and Stuart Bradford, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was born to Paul and Alfrieda (Matzke) Wordelman on July 17, 1921 in Buffalo Lake Minnesota. She graduated from Tieton High School near Yakima in 1940. She attended beauty school in Yakima in 1941. During WWII, Gladys served in the Navy at Alameda Naval Air Station, CA as a Storekeeper 1st Class. She did her basic training at Hunter College in New York City. Gladys was very proud of her years of service and status as a Veteran. After the war Gladys worked as a beautician off and on in Yakima and later in Richland. But, her rolls as Mother and home maker were her proudest accomplishments and her family was most important to her. Gladys loved her family. A Celebration of Glady's life will be held Monday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wesley Gardens Retirement Center, Des Moines, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wesley Homes Foundation, 815 S 216th St., Des Moines, WA 98198
