Ernestine Louise Unger, born 02/20/1938 was called home on 02/20/2016. Ernestine was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who was loved by many. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Maurice J. Unger. She is also survived by one sister Kim Bechtold (Benny). Ernestine also leaves behind 4 children Theresa (Keith) Edwards, Irene (Ralph) Brown, William J. (Mary) O'Donnell, Patricia Moffatte and also daughter in Law- Marie O'Donnell. Ernestine was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and was expecting the birth of her first great-great grandchild. Ernestine was a professional seamstress for over 30 years. Ernestine's true joy was sewing the costumes for the Philadelphia Mummers Parade each year. Ernestine would embrace all of her close friends and family to help with this stressful time of year. A special thank you to Debbie Grau for all the years you helped her achieve her goal. Your friendship and compassion is truly appreciated. Over the years Ernestine relocated to Washington State from Philadelphia, she continued to work for the Philadelphia Mummers until 2014. Ernestine and Maurice together embraced a new community, Lakewood Meadows. We would like to thank the staff and residents for their support during Ernestine's illness and continued support for her husband. A special thank you to Brenda and Kathy. The family would like to thank Andrea for the care, love and support she provided our mother on a daily basis. The family would also like to thank St. Clair Hospital and Kindred Transitional Home for all there support and guidance during this difficult time in our life.
