David M. Budik. August 27, 1936 – September 8, 2013 David, 77, passed away on September 8, 2013 from complications of congestive heart failure and COPD. David was born August 27, 1936 in Redwood Falls, MN to Dr. Joseph C. Budik and Olga I (Leverson) Budik. After graduation from High School he served 3 years, 6 months in the United Stated Air Force. Following his tour of service he attended Mankato State College in Mankato, MN where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. While in college he met and married his wife, Jean. David enjoyed a long career working for the Federal Government, Social Security Administration , finally retiring after 33 years as a Social Security/Medicare Fraud Investigator with the Office of the Inspector General. David is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 53 years, daughter Terri (Martin) Heisel and son, Jay (Catherine) Budik, grandchildren: David (Allison) Budik, Nicole Budik, Caitlyn Heisel, and Cory Heisel, many nieces and nephews and their children, numerous extended family members and their friends. Preceding him in death: his parents; Sister, Margaret; Brothers, Richard J. and Robert C. Budik David enjoyed playing cribbage, watching his favorite sports teams, reading his beloved collection of Louis L’Amour, (now dog-earred), and watching old John Wayne movies. The family would like to thank his doctors and nurses at St. Clare Hospital, the Pierce County EMTs and also Franciscan Hospice, all of whom were so kind and gentle. These services were greatly appreciated. A graveside service will be September 14, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Gethsemane Cemetary, 37600 Pacific Highway S, Federal Way, WA 98003. A reception following the service will be at 9220 28th Ave S, Lakewood, WA 98499 (at the clubhouse).
