Vincent J. Flynn

Vincent J. Flynn Jr., 82, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Belleview, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014. He was born April 2, 1932, in Providence, R.I. the son of Mary and Vincent Flynn, Sr. Vincent was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Marines. He retired from the Providence Journal in Rode Island. Vincent was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He loved everything about the ocean and enjoyed golfing, fishing and dancing. Vincent was a devoted and loving father and loved spending time with his family and friends. Vincent will be greatly missed by his children, Donald Flynn, Kathleen Dragomir, Maureen Woodward, Debra McCarthy, Jeanne Flynn, Vincent J. Flynn III and Kelly Flynn-Dawson; step-children, Jeffrey Taylor and James Taylor; brother, Donald Flynn; sister, Betty Blades; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; and daughter, Peggy Flynn. A memorial service, with military honers, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer.
