Karla Elizabeth Bales

Karla Bales was born on March 21st, 1966 and passed away on June 23rd, 2017. She was a woman of many titles; Wife, Mom, Friend, Daughter, but most importantly, Nana. Karla accomplished and became many things in her short 51 years of life. Some would call her a professional collector of things, although her family and friends would say she’s a pack-rat. She was known for her baking, yet she never mastered the ability to bake in small quantities. This meant that Christmas cookies were delivered to anyone…and everyone. She was the life of every party, partially due to being the craziest and loudest person in the room. Karla could TP an entire house in 2 minutes flat, leaving behind no trace of her involvement (if you fell victim and never found out the culprit, there’s a 99% chance it was her). She thoroughly enjoyed a good clearance rack and could smell a yard-sale from miles away. All joking aside, Karla lived an amazing and full life. She was married to her soul-mate, Willie, for almost 33-years and together they had three children; Tamra, Kristina (Travis), and William (Bobbi). Karla’s biggest joy in life came from being a Nana to her nine grandchildren; Gabriel, Caleb, Isaiah, Kailyee, Shayna, Peyton, Aiden, Parker and Paisley. When not busy being Nana, Karla enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Mary and being “grandma” to her daughters, Tiffany and Samantha. She admired her mother Judy, and deeply cherished the relationship they had. To most others, she was known as “Mama Bales” and carried that title proudly. Please join us in CELEBRATING her life on July 22, 2017 at the Emerald Queen Ballroom & Conference Center (5700 Pacific Hwy E., Tacoma, WA 98424). Doors will open at 11:00am and the service will start at 11:30am.
