Linda Kathleen Stephens
February 22nd, 1947 - July 4th, 2017
Linda (Kathy) Kathleen Stephens passed peacefully with family at her side on July 4th, 2017 in Gig Harbor. Kathy was born February 22, 1947 and raised Catholic with her two sisters in Pasadena. She married Bill in 1973 and moved the family to Gig Harbor in 1978. She worked for AT&T (Bell system) as a long distance operator in California and Tacoma for 23 years. Linda loved to travel, starting with a trip to Italy when she was young then traveling all around the west coast, including Alaska, with her husband and two boys in an Air stream trailer. She compiled boxes of pictures she took over the years, sometimes at the behest of her subjects, but always insisted pictures of people were more important than landscapes. In her later years, Linda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, as was her mother years earlier. She battled it ferociously and ultimately was a 14 year survivor. She was always compassionate and understanding and just adored her surviving grand kids who affectionately only knew her as Nana growing up, Jared (26), Jessica (21) and Abigail (8). Also survived by her husband William, sons Jason and Scott, and two sisters, Karen and Karolyn
