Francis Edmund Parsons

Francis Edmund Parsons Born in Jamestown, ND on February 1, 1928 in a snow storm. Died in Tacoma WA July 18. 2017 He was born to Margret (Folk) and Frank Parsons. Soon the family moved to Salem, OR and then, when Frank was 9 years old, they moved to Tacoma WA, where he spent the rest of his life. Frank’s Siblings include John (deceased), Margaret DeHaven, Patricia Mohler, and Mary Alice McCarthy. Frank’s Children with his first wife Marilyn are Marianne (Tacoma), Michael (Tacoma), and Patrick (Salem, OR), and with Darlene, his wife of 55 years, are Elizabeth and Timothy (Karen). Other family members include grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Frank attended St. Leo’s grade school and Bellarmine High School. He entered the Army serving with the Military Police in North Korea preceding the Korean War. As a young man, he worked alongside his father as a landscaper. After attending Bates Vocational School, Frank began his long career as a heavy duty truck mechanic working for Irwin Jones Co., West Coast Grocery, Holroyd, and retiring from Lakewood Refuse after many years. Throughout his career, he was an active member of his union. He was recognized by the Union with a 60 year pin. During his life, Frank enjoyed owning his own boats, fishing in Puget Sound, Westport, and Alaska. Road trips with family and friends, travelling, and cruising, especially in Alaska were highlights. Frank was often found working in his yard, proudly making it the best looking lawn on the block. He was always willing to help anybody who needed his assistance.
