Martha E. Bass

Martha E. Bass passed away Sunday January 18, 2015 at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte while under the care of Tidewell Hospice. Martha was born to Clarence and Annie Scaggs on September 27, 1949 in Elliott County, KY. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary Holbrook of Rogers KY, Kathy (Ken) Taylor of Ocala FL, and Karen (Randy) Hipp of Punta Gorda, FL; 10 grandchildren, Aleasha and Ashley McClaskey, Dennis and Angelina Dees, Amber and Hannah Smith, Jordan (Caitlyn) Camppbell, and Joel, Lee and Kamryn Seadorf; 1 brother, Floyd (Lucille) Scaggs; 4 sisters, Ines Seagraves, Arlene Miller, Linda (Carl) Kegley, and Jean Purnell; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kirsten Shay Seadorf. Martha will be greatly missed by all of her family and many friends, especially her sister, Ines, with whom she lived with for 13 years. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6-8:00PM at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 SW County Road 769 (Kings Highway) in Lake Suzy, FL and Friday, January 23, 2014 from 10-11:00AM at Sonshine Baptist Church, 23105 Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM at the church. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Forrest Nelson Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
