Ralph Earl Mahon
August 26th, 1932 - February 3rd, 2015
Ralph Earl Mahon, 82, of Port Charlotte passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. He was born to the late Eugene V. and Mabel M. (nee: LaMont) Mahon on August 26, 1932. He was born and raised in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Ralph served in the US Army for 2 years. He worked for the R.C. Mahon Steele Company, Jared Industries and served as Captain in the Macomb County Michigan Sheriff's Posse. He moved his family to Port Charlotte in 1969 and opened Harbor Marine with his brother Bill Mahon. After selling the marina, he worked as a trim carpenter and finally a custodian at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was also a member. Ralph is survived by his son David Mahon of Port Charlotte; daughter Julie (Robert) DuCasse of Tallahassee, FL; sister Shirley (James) Mulligan of Rochester, MI; many nieces and nephews; and 5 grandchildren: Tamara Smith, Justin and Jason Mahon, and April and Zachary DuCasse. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Ardith, who passed away in 2014; daughter Diane Mahon Smith of Port Charlotte; and brothers William Mahon of Port Charlotte and Russell Mahon. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the Funeral Service at 3pm Sunday February 15, 2015, at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, FL. Pastor Kenneth Barrios will officiate. His final Rest of Entombment at Charlotte Memorial Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice House of Venice, 220 Wexford Blvd, Venice, FL 34293. Pay respects at www.charlottememorial.com.
