Randall Sheldon Rugg, 70, died peacefully on February 23 at the Bayfront Hospital in Punta Gorda, FL. He was born February 15, 1945 in Ashtabula, OH while his father Thomas was at sea during WWII and his mother Carol lived with her mother Ruth. He is survived by his two children, Leah and Joel Rugg, both of Granville, OH, two grandchildren Hunter and Max and three siblings Stephen Rugg, Elizabeth Rugg and Kathy Bertani (Jack), all residing in Punta Gorda, FL. Mr. Rugg graduated from Miami of Ohio University, served over 4 years in the U.S. Navy and worked in the family business, the E.T. Rugg Co. and other businesses prior to pursuing an elusive esoteric calling of spirituality. His journey throughout the world brought peace, love and opened the hearts of all he touched. So many will deeply miss Randy. All of us know he is at peace. In memoriam, prayer and loving was his being. The family would suggest his mantra could be served best with any contribution to The Memorial Gardens, Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, 11330 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950: or TideWell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238. Arrangements are by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory, Punta Gorda. Pay respects at www.charlottememorial.com.
