Frances A. Grimm

Frances Avery Grimm, 51, died in Port Charlotte, FL. Fran (to her friends) was most often called Mom. She raised two daughters, Devyn and Minnie, who loved her to the moon and back. She also informally adopted many of their friends. Her house was affectionately known as the "black hole -- It was a place where time and space stopped and you could go to escape the world and be surrounded by love, some sarcasm, and a great game of cards. Once you were there, you did not want to leave. Fran opened her heart and her home to anyone that needed a safe place or to feel loved. She was best known for her big heart and her great sense of humor. She had a smile that could light up the room. Fran is survived by her children, Devyn Grimm and Ann-Frances "Minnie" Grimm; her son-in-law-to-be, Kris Andreasen; her kids "adopted in heart", Tammy Miller, Pat Kennell and his wife, Sheri Markus-Kennell, and Jody Thompson and her wife, Nikki Thompson; and her grandbabies, Chloe and Belle Thompson and Ani Kennell. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Avery, and his wife, Donna and their children and grandchildren along with other family and friends. The family's famous bearded dragons, Tubba, Milo and Wilbur remain in mourning. She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Jim Avery, her sister and best friend, Anne Kennell, and her husband and the love of her life, Don Grimm. She looked forward to a date night in heaven with Don, and no doubt they are smiling down on the wonderful family they created. No services will be held at this time.
