Sharen Ann Freeland
July 12th, 1949 - September 5th, 2017
Sharen was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 12, 1949 and moved to Seattle with her mom, Margaret, and brother, Dana, in 1952 to join extended family members already living in the Seattle area. She grew up with her family in Richmond Beach surrounded by a large and loving extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. During her high school years, she was involved in the Masonic youth service organization International Order of Rainbow Girls and served as Grand Worthy Advisor. She was also involved in Spades, a group in high school that helped the disabled population. She graduated from Shoreline High School in 1967. After working in Seattle for a few years, she moved to Canada and enjoyed experiences ranging from working for the Canadian government, miscellaneous private companies and managing a cattle farm. After 20 years, she returned to the Seattle area and married her high school sweetheart, Larry Freeland. In her later years, she worked as a real estate agent in Yuma, Arizona. Sharen loved to travel, be by the water and her favorite place to vacation with Larry and family was Astoria, Oregon. She was passionate about life, liked to serve and help others in need, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Sharen was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Rolph, father, Clarence Rolph, brother Dana Scott Rolph and grandmother, Mary Pope. Sharen is survived by her husband, Larry; Step-daughter & son, Elaina and Mark as well as two grandchildren, Dylan and Lucas; Brother, Craig Rolph (Carol); 3 nieces, Carrie, Amy and Ashley Rolph; Aunt and Uncle, Pat and Gene Anthony, and numerous cousins, including Linda Minarcin who was like a sister to her.
