Paul W. Walker
May 17th, 1938 - December 25th, 2021
Tribute Paul W. Walker, Sr. died at the age of 83 on December 25, 2021 at Sunrise of Boulder Assisted Living. He was born on May 17, 1938, in Gulfport, MS, the son of Fred G. and Clara E. Walker. Paul was a lifelong resident of Gulfport, MS. Paul graduated from Gulfport High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey Frances Wimpee. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in July. He served four years in the United States Navy based out of San Diego, CA. He was a thirty-second degree Mason in Lodge #323. Paul was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and served both the Handsboro and Mississippi City Methodist Church. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. 903 in Gulfport, MS, and while in the I.B.E.W., he served as an instructor and was on the apprenticeship board. Paul retired from Haynes Electric in Gulfport in 2000. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Fred G. Walker, Jr., and Carl E. Walker, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Frances (Wimpee) Walker; his son, Paul W. Walker, Jr., of Gulfport, MS; his two daughters, Connie Frances Balee and her husband, William, of New Orleans, LA, and Kathy Jean Zeeck and her husband, Kevin, of Firestone, CO; three grandchildren: Eighmey Zeeck (Joshua Salpeter), Sean Zeeck (Lauren), and Walker Leverett (Abby); and five great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Virginia E. "Elaine" Walker of Gulfport, MS, as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be a service of remembrance at Riemann Family Funeral Homes in Gulfport, MS, on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Viewing will be from 12:00 to 1:30 pm, with the service immediately following. There will be no graveside service. The family requests that you please wear a mask. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport, MS. Those who wish to remember Paul in a special way may make gifts to the Gary Sinise Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans in his memory.
