Ramona "Mona" Maureen Wells
September 26th, 1937 - April 26th, 2022
Ramona Maureen “Mona” Wells was born on September 26, 1937, in Nisqually, Washington, where she was raised by her father, George, mother, Rose, and 10 siblings. Mona was married in 1954 to the love of her life, Reggie Wells, until he passed in 2002. Her family and friends are happy to know they have been reunited on the other side to continue their journey together. Family was everything to Mona. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, attending birthday parties, sports events, and anything else she could. In fact, she was always at the hospital to greet them when they were born. When she wasn’t with the grandkids, she loved traveling and attending the elder’s luncheons in Puyallup at higʷədaltxʷ -- House of Respect, with her best friend, Evie. She also loved watching “her” Mariners, the Huskies and the Seahawks with her daughter, Lorena. Early on, Mona worked at the Staatz Berry Farm in Nisqually, and then went to work in medical billing and transcription for Group Health, from which she eventually retired. Mona passed away April 26, 2022. She was a beautiful soul who will be loved and missed dearly. She is survived by her son, Clifford (Susan) Wells; daughter, Lorena (Larry) Guidry; grandchildren, Jolene Wells, Jennifer (Willie) Squally, and Rachel (Keith) Birkoski; and great-grandchildren, Makaylah Michael, William (Junior) Squally, Kurts (Wallie) Michael, Reggie Guidry-Birkoski, Jocelyn Squally, Liam Birkoski, Kannon Birkoski, and Lillian Birkoski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald “Reggie” Wells; great-grandson, James Gilmore; mother, Rose McCloud; father, George McCloud; sisters, Porgie Kautz, Norma Frank, Marilyn Samuels, and Regina Sanchez; and brothers, Jack, Bubby, Bunny, Butch, Pernie, and Earl McCloud. Funeral Services will be held May 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nisqually Adult Wellness Center (formally the Nisqually Youth Center). A graveside service will be at Leschi Cemetery, and dinner will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to breast cancer awareness at the Susan G.
