Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Frances Ann Trierweiler
August 23rd, 1948 - September 18th, 2017
Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Fran Trierweiler, 69, of Tacoma WA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at 1135 am September 18, 2017. She fought cancer for nearly a year. Fran was born August 23, 1948 to Alice Louise Crosby (Gran) and Vincent Edward Bruzas (Bumpa) at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA. She attended Aquinas Academy, and Stadium High School where she was an accomplished swimmer. Fran married her husband of 50 years Jerald Robert Trierweiler on September 1, 1967. She gave birth to a son on July 7, 1972 Jerald Robert Trierweiler. Fran worked hard in a variety of jobs over her lifetime. This included being a cook at a nursing home, glass cutter, truck driver, and in egg production at Wilcox Farms. Her favorite job by far was teaching children how to swim at Fife Aquatic Center during her retirement. She was very proud of the kids she taught and was happiest when she could be in the water. Fran also had a gift with animals. She had horses from teenaged years until she retired and moved to her boat. Over the years her home was always known as "Fran's Funny Farm". Horses, dogs, cats, chickens, geese, a groundhog named Bud, and of course her parrots. Fran had a great sense of adventure. At first under protest, but soon learned to love it, she took up sailing with her husband. They made an incredible journey sailing to Alaska up the inland passage. They went scuba diving, and stopped at many ports along the way. Fran started scuba diving in her 60's, and talked her husband and son into doing it with her. Fran had a very kind and generous spirit that carried over to everyone who was close to her. Fran leaves behind many to grieve, her husband Jerald Trierweiler Sr, son Jerald Trierweiler Jr, her brothers William and Bob Bruzas, sister in-laws Angela Clark and Patrice Bruzas, numerous nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly, and "The Beach Girls" her nearly lifelong friends Marilyn Fameli, Judy Burgess, Merry Zinis, and Sharon Kurz. Fran was preceded in death by her sister Marialice Smythe, and Nephew William Bruzas Jr. Services will be held Thursday September 28th 2017 at 4pm Cedar Springs 7354 Bethel Burley Rd SE Port Orchard, WA 98367
