Richard Pelis
August 6th, 1939 - December 14th, 2021
Tribute Richard Pelis 82, of Longmont passed away December 14, 2021 at his home. He was born and raised in Greenfield, Mass. After high school he attended and graduated from Stockbridge School of Agriculture at University of Mass majoring in Forestry. He then attended the University of New Hampshire furthering his career in forestry. He spent his summers working for the US Forest Service fighting forest fires in California and Utah. He met Diane at UNH and she became his wife in January of 1962. He worked for the USFS in Kentucky, Vermont, Oregon and Colorado for 30 Years. He also served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Richard and Diane had four children, Frank, Kirk, Michael and Paul. After his retirement he studied to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church and was assigned to several churches in his 27 years. He enjoyed hunting, tying flies, fishing and camping with his entire family. Richard is survived by his wife Diane of 59 years, his children Frank (Sandi), Corey, Kirk (Kim) Joshua and Jamie, Michael, Paul (Anna) Preston and Savannah. His brother Frank (Kerry) Brenna and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
