Ronald Stanger passed away June 10, 2022, in Olympia, Washington, his home the last 18 years. He was born June 15, 1947, to Richard J. and Hazel (Wood) Stanger in Great Falls, Montana. Over the years, he lived in Heidelberg Germany (1985-2002), Olympia (1976-1984), Missoula, Montana (1969-1976), and Great Falls, Montana (1947-1969). Ron graduated from high school in 1965 in Great Falls; attended the University of Montana in Missoula; earned an AA degree from Ft. Steilacoom Community College, and BA in business and management from the University of Maryland. He married Diane Lopez on November 9, 1974. Ron was easy going, kind, generous, and always willing to help anyone who asked although he was reluctant to ask for help himself. He was non-confrontational but would stand his ground. He loved watching the Seattle Seahawks, hiking, woodworking, and volunteering with AARP as a tax aide. He is survived by his wife, Diane Stanger of Olympia; and sister, Chauna Stanger Burk of Kokomo, Indiana. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Randal Stanger; uncle and aunt, Harley and Virginia Wood. Memorial donations may be made to South Sound Senior Services, 222 Columbia St. NW, Olympia, WA 98501. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
