Ben passed away August 7, 2022, in Olympia, Wash., at the age of 91. He was born December 9, 1930, in Seattle, Wash., to Percy Leo and Sadie Raleigh. He spent his youth in Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School. Ben served in the U.S. Army and married his sweetheart Lois “Sue” Raleigh on May 3, 1952. They shared 63 years together. Ben worked a variety of jobs through the years, most of which were in the food industry. Some of his jobs included Langendorf Bakery, Camarano Brothers, car sales, and many second jobs in grocery stores. Later, he and Lois worked together, owning Ben’s 24 Flavors and Evergreen Valley Grocery. Both retired in 1994 to be able to travel and enjoy life. Ben was a hard working, loving and caring man. It was important to him that he was able to help and nurture so many people. He loved it! With his knowledge and compassion, he touched the lives of so many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; brother, Perc; and sister, Evelynn. He is survived by his son, Marlin (Cindy); daughter, Bennah (Will); five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the many family, friends and caregivers for their love and support for our dad, especially all those who helped make the final mile of life a smooth journey. Rest in peace Dad! We love you! Private services will be held. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
