Dave John MacPhee

David John MacPhee 01/30/40 - 08/27/17 David was born to Alexander and Agnes MacPhee in Long Branch, New Jersey. As a child his family moved (1947) to Van Nuys, California. He graduated from Birmingham High School in 1958 and enlisted in the army. Upon discharge he returned home to California. Dave had an infinity for adventure and sports. In high school he taught swimming and gained his private pilot license. He later became enthralled with snow skiing and eventually worked on ski patrol; this is where he met his bride and love of his life, Vicki. They were married in 1969 and settled in Laguna Niguel, California. Dave went to work in restaurant management eventually opening his own establishment, The Rib Rack. Snow skiing remained a passion with new adventures into sailing, ocean fishing, horseback riding, golf and camping trips with his growing family. In 1979, he moved his family to Gig Harbor, Washington. He became employed in sales with Trade Products Corporation. When he wasn’t traveling across the nation for work, he spent his leisure time golfing, river rafting, attending professional and family sporting events and family vacations to Canada, Mexico and Hawaii. Through his love for his own family he became involved in children’s charities. He initiated the “Guppy Open” a golf tournament for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital foundation and he also became a “Cowboy” for the Forgotten Children’s Fund. Dave is survived by his wife Vicki, his three children; Rachel, Ryan and Heather. His 7 grandchildren; Evan, Savannah, Bodin, Hunter, Tavis, Sienna and Quinn. And one great granddaughter, McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Agnes; his son, David; and Sister, Kathleen. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Forgotten Children’s Fund in Dave’s name to P.O. Box 9936, Seattle, WA 98109.
