Margaret Irene Miller
December 26th, 1929 - October 11th, 2017
On the evening of October 11, 2017 Margaret Irene Miller (Wurden) went home to be with the Lord. Margaret (Maggie) was born December 26, 1929 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was raised on a farm in Fisher Minnesota. Daughter to Anchor and Nan Wurden. She had 2 brothers, Fred and Bob Wurden. Beloved mother to Dean Miller-Sacramento CA, Gretchen Butler-Seattle WA, Pam Coss-Joplin MO and Patty Miller-Laton CA. Grandmother to Amy Murray-Katy TX, Erin Hainaut-Worden IL, Kelsey Donovan-Tampa FL and Casey Miller-Norwalk CA. Great grandmother to Alexis Olsen-Houston TX, Cameron Whites-Carnation WA, and Miles Hainaut-Worden, IL. (Also expecting another great-grandson in 2018) A longtime resident of Southern California, she retired from the Public Health Department in Whittier, California. After retiring and always up for a new adventure, she began traveling with family and friends to exotic lands in far-off places. For the next fifteen years, a series of motor homes became her residence as she crisscrossed the country meeting strangers who quickly became friends. Wherever her travels took her, she found opportunities to volunteer, from assisting at RV parks along the Oregon coast to painting buildings at the Aransas Wildlife Refuge in Port Aransas, Texas; she was always up for the challenge. When it became time to slow down, she returned to Southern California spending a number of years living in Cathedral City, where she was an active member of the Elks and continued to volunteer at numerous organizations. She loved the sun baked vistas of the desert; thunderstorms in Texas and sitting on the patio enjoying a glass of wine or two with family and friends. She was always upbeat and had the most generous spirit. One of Maggie’s awe-inspiring quotes was, “IT’LL ALL WORK OUT”--- (which usually it did)! This beautiful woman will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her and will be missed every day.
