Gilberta H. Brown, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Harbour Health Center in Port Charlotte. Mrs. Brown was born August 16, 1915 in Danville, Iowa to Gilbert H. and Hazel L. (nee New) Landes and moved to this area 8 years ago from Oceanside, California. She worked as a purchasing agent for a department store. Mrs. Brown is survived by her son, Robert L. Barron of Punta Gorda, FL and Easton, MO; and grandchildren, Mona Barron of Houston, TX, Robert Barron, Jr. of New Port Richey, FL, and Macgregor Barron of Los Angeles, CA. No services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be at a later date in California. Arrangements by Paul Schelm Funeral Home in Lake Suzy. Phone (941) 625-3535.
