Herb Mahanay
November 26th, 1924 - October 14th, 2015
Herbert (Herb) Mahanay was born November 26, 1924 in St. Louis. MO. and raised in Kirkwood, MO. He graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1942. He also lived in Manchester, MO. from 1955-1979 and rural Waterloo, IL. From 1979-1990. Herb was a WWII Air Force veteran, serving in the Alaska region. He worked as a design engineer for appliance manufacturers in the St. Louis area for 35 years and retired to Punta Gorda, FL. in December, 1990. Herb traveled to all states including, Alaska and Maine (except three in the Rhode Island area) by RV. He also traveled to almost all provinces and territories in Canada. He is survived by his son Loren and daughter Deanna as well as by four grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Gene in Colorado. Arrangements are under the direction of Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory. Entombment in Tranquility mausoleum will be private. Pay respects at www.charlottememorial.com.
