Louise Garneau, 87, of Port Charlotte, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. She was born January 29, 1924, in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Charles & Margaret (Campbell) Kennedy. Her main goal in life was the raising, care and safety of her very special son Jimmy Garneau. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1977, from Foxboro, Massachusetts. Louise is survived by a brother Joseph Kennedy and a sister Barbara Marquotte both of Massachusetts, her four children Patty (Bill) Gonyea of Woodbury, CT; Steve (Sharon) Garneau of Mansfield, MA; and Bobby (Betty) Garneau and Jimmy Garneau all of Port Charlotte. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Buddy Garneau; son and daughter in law Joseph and Sheila Garneau, and her son in law David Abely. At Louise's request, there will be no public services at this time. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics of Charlotte County, 172 Baldwin Court Southeast, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
