Charles William Wasmus
September 20th, 1929 - October 25th, 2015
Charles (Chuck) William Wasmus, 86 from Port Charlotte passed away on Oct 25th 2015 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral. Born in Baltimore Md in 1929, and formerly of Bowie Md. he served in the USAF during the Korean War and came to Florida with his Wife Helen and Son Brad in 1977 after retiring from a successful career as an Air Traffic Controller. He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen, and his second wife Teddi. He leaves behind two Great grandchildren, 4 grandchildren, his Son Brad and Daughter in Law Angela all of Punta Gorda as well as many close friends. Chuck was a wonderful man, loved by many.He made friends where ever he went. He was a former Fire Commissioner for the Harbour Heights Fire Department and worked tirelessly for the members of HHFD during the process of consolidation into Charlotte County Fire and EMS. In later years Chuck enjoyed traveling and "Seeing a show" at the Port Charlotte Cultural Center with his wife Teddi. A Celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd in Punta Gorda.
