Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Lacey
Randy Allen Larson
August 28th, 1950 - April 23rd, 2023
Randy Allen Larson passed away April 23, 2023, in Lacey, Washington. He was born August 28, 1950, in Longview, Washington, and spent his formative years in Shelton, Washington, with his parents, his brothers, and his mother’s side of the family (Naults). They moved to Sitka, Alaska, and then to McKinleyville, California, where Randy graduated from high school and entered the U.S. Navy. He was very proud of his military service to the country. After the service, he returned to Sitka and worked in the mill and volunteered as a fireman. In the ‘70s, he moved to the Seattle, Washington, area, where he worked for the local cable company until he started his 30-year career at Boeing as a maintenance electrician. Randy’s passion was football, and he loved the Seahawks! The Fantasy Leagues will miss him and his fun-loving nature and attitude toward the game. Another passion was the bicycle. He rode the STP (Seattle to Portland) twice and was very proud of the accomplishment. He also enjoyed running and participated in the “Beat the Bridge.” He enjoyed camping, a family activity he grew up with, as well as lake fishing. During his retirement, Randy enjoyed reading and watching documentaries on aviation, survival, nature, and outer space, to name a few. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walfred Edward Larson and Mae Alice (Nault) Larson. He is survived by his wife, Sallie; daughter, Jessica Runnels; son, Bryan Hicks; stepdaughters, Sara Kinsman (Mike) and Staci Malloy (Kylie); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; older brothers, James (Judy) and Terry (Laura); uncles, Duane Nault (Donna) and Gary Nault (Mary Jane); aunts, Jane Ellerbroek (Frank) and Jean Hunt; nieces and many cousins. Randy was a gentle giant with a soft spot for all. We miss and LOVE you very much! A Veteran's Service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, 1:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042. A Celebration of Life will follow at 20738 SE 287th, Kent, WA 98042. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
