Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Lacey
Carol Ann Brock Frahm
September 7th, 2023
Carol Ann Brock Frahm, 77, of Lacey, Washington, passed away September 7, 2023, following a brave battle with cancer. Carol was born in Seattle in 1946, the beloved daughter of Joe and Barbara Moore. Her family moved from Capitol Hill to the North Beach area in 1957. A 1964 Ballard High School graduate, she then enrolled at the University of Washington. Carol made lifelong friends easily and enjoyed spending time with them traveling, walking dogs, playing sports, and attending social events. One of her closest friends group was her Beta Sigma Phi sisters. A non-academic volunteer organization, Carol was a member of the Seattle Torch Delta chapter and then the Theta Master chapter for 57 years, where she held every leadership position, was an enthusiastic and successful fundraiser, and earned countless awards, including Woman of the Year in 2010, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 and the 2021 City Council International Award of Distinction. Carol and her late husband, F. Michael Frahm, moved from Seattle to Lacey in 2008, following her retirement from Shoreline School District and his retirement from Amtrak. In Lacey, they sponsored golf tournaments at Hawk’s Prairie, traveled, and enjoyed their retirement with friends in the Jubilee Development. Every summer, Mike and Carol went on annual fishing trips to Alaska or Northern Canada, where she once caught a 50-pound salmon— every angler’s dream. In the winter, they vacationed in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai. They also enjoyed numerous cruises to Alaska, Europe, and many sunny places. Carol loved sports and was fiercely competitive. She enjoyed skiing, golf, softball, bowling, showing and riding horses, and water volleyball, but she could make any sport or game into a fun match. She loved her gardens and worked year-round to grow beautiful, fragrant roses and dinner-plate size dahlias. She raised AKC German Shepherds and enjoyed many animal companions, including her latest trusty companion, Stitch. Carol was a talented quilter and was a member of the local quilting guild in Lacey. She loved playing the flute and piccolo, a lifelong passion she began in the 4th grade. She added the piccolo in high school and then joined the University of Washington marching band. Most recently, she was a member of Olympia South Puget Sound New Horizons Band in Lacey. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and partner of 29 years, F. Michael Frahm. She is survived by her stepchildren, Bob Brock Jr. and wife Sandra of Sacramento, California; Gordon Brock and wife Denise of Sacramento; Kevin Brock and wife Frances of Anna, Texas; LeAnn Brock-Russell of Fresno, California; Robert Brock and wife June of Bonham, Texas; Erik Frahm and wife Natalie of Vancouver Washington; and Krystyna Frahm and husband Jeff Johnson of Federal Way, Washington. She is also survived by her brother, Michael J. Moore, and sister-in-law, Sharon Townsend Moore of Boone, North Carolina; two nieces; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. “Carol will be deeply missed and always remembered, especially when we use one of the beautiful quilts she made, need her fantastic memory for details or family history, or enjoy a UW or Seahawks football game without her colorful beads and big cowboy hat, but most of all her enthusiasm and quest for fun. We will miss her always sincere personality, her bright smile, determination and humor, and patriotism.” The family would like to thank Krystyna Frahm and Barbara Fey for their tireless dedication and care of Carol during her last months of fighting cancer. Services for Carol Frahm will be announced at a later date. Her ashes will rest at Tahoma National Cemetery next to her husband, F. Michael Frahm.
