Anne Culpepper Lundeen
March 12th, 1938 - September 22nd, 2023
Anne Culpepper Lundeen passed away September 22, 2023, in Olympia, Washington. She was born March 12, 1938, to E. Russell Culpepper and Willow (Aldridge) Culpepper in Nahunta, Georgia. She resided in Steamboat Island in Olympia, Washington, and Lacey, Washington, for more than 35 years. Anne graduated from Wenatchee High School and earned a BA in Social Work from Eastern Washinton University. She married Bud Lundeen on June 12, 1959, in Wenatchee. Professionally, Anne was a social worker, retiring from Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). Anne was known to strike up a conversation with anyone, including strangers, which often embarrassed her kids. She also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with her family and friends. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies during her life, including ceramics, quilting, and gardening. An avid reader of mysteries and suspense stories, she never went anywhere without her Kindle. Later in life, she was a regular visitor to local casinos and had her favorite slot machines at each location. Anne also enjoyed getting together with relatives and several long-term friends she made while working with the State. She is survived by her son, Alan Lundeen of Olympia; daughter, Clarissa Lundeen of Lacey; brothers, Tom Culpepper of Yakima, Washington, and Jerry Culpepper of South Carolina; and sister, Mila Gormley of Wenatchee. She is deceased by her husband, and parents. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Little Creek Casino, 91 W. State Route 108, Shelton, WA 98584. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
