Robert N. Lee
August 31st, 1947 - November 12th, 2023
Robert Noel Lee died November 12, 2023, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington, with his family by his side. He died of a rare complication from Immunotherapy. Services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2109 College St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Robert was born on August 31, 1947, in Alexandria, Minnesota, to Oscar and Pearl Lee. He grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota, with his parents and three younger sisters. Robert graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1965. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1970 and the UND School of Law in 1973. While attending UND, he met his wife, Judith Ann Patterson, and they were married in 1969. In1973, Bob and Judie moved to Cavalier, North Dakota, where he practiced law for 30 years. His years of practice included a general law practice, Pembina County States Attorney for 12 years, and City Attorney. He was active in community affairs and served on the Cavalier School Board, United Lutheran Church Council, and Regional Human Service Board. Family time was important to him and he enjoyed being involved in Judie and his boy’s activities. They have many fond memories of golfing, attending/playing sports of all types, camping, and summer adventures around the country. Bob was an avid reader and was the family go-to for facts of all types. Bob started a second career in 2004 as a realtor with Park Co Realtors in Fargo, North Dakota. He enjoyed the people and the work. He was named Realtor of the Year in 2012 by the Fargo Moorhead Area Association of Realtors and served as their president in 2015. Retiring in 2016, Bob and Judie moved to Olympia to be close to their sons and their families. It was especially fun for him to spend time with his grandchildren. He was always happy to pick them up from school, play cards and board games, take them to lunch, and attend their sporting events and concerts. Bob took pleasure in tending to his yard and conversing with his neighbors while on numerous daily walks with his loyal companion, Sadie. Bob and Judie joined St. Mark Lutheran Church, where he took great joy in being a part of the choir. Bob is survived by his wife, Judie; sons Jerrod Lee and Stefan (Sandy) Lee, both of Olympia; grandchildren, Olivia Swihart-Lee, Elli Lee, and Jack Lee. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Jacques of Olympia, Paula (Patrick) Olsen of Fargo, North Dakota, and Janna (Jon) Achter of Fargo. Bob loved his nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. He enjoyed a special bond with his in-laws, Jerry and Nancy Patterson and Jim and Irene Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Pearl Lee; grandparents, Lars and Helga Lee and Hennig and Borghild Isackson; and brothers-in-law, Doug Jacques and Jerry Patterson. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church Choir Fund, 2109 College St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
