Keith Edwin Wetzler

Keith Edwin Wetzler, a 14-year resident of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on March 18, 2017. He was 73 years old. Keith was born on December 17, 1943 to Harold and Naomi (nee Pierson) Wetzler in Newton, NJ. A graduate of Newton High School, Keith honorably served during the Vietnam War, earning an Army Expert Rifle Marksmanship Badge, Third Leaf Cluster Air Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Second Overseas Bar, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was a business owner and had several occupations over the years. Most recently, Keith worked as a Real Estate Agent for Thomas Ryan Associates, and enjoyed spending time with the people he met and networked with. He was also an active member of the Punta Gorda | Port Charlotte | North Port Association of Realtors. Keith loved watching Nascar and his country, but most of all, he loved his family and living life with his best friend, Sandy, by his side. He will always be cherished as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Keith is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Grossman) Wetzler; daughter, Lindsey (Thomas) McDermott; sons, Shane (Heather) Farrell and Brent Farrell; sister, Gail (Robert) Raser; grandchildren, Sydney Lynn McDermott, Jack Farrell, Liam Farrell, Grace Farrell, Ben Farrell and Lily McDermott; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 24, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keith's memory to one's local VA agency.
