Don M. Sorensen passed away January 5, 2019 in Lacey, Washington. He was born April 3, 1934 to Richard and Bessie Sorensen in Lawton, Oklahoma. Don was an Eagle Scout, attended the University of Idaho, and served eight years in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1962, including time in Korea. Don married Margaret Bienick on April 19, 1969, and worked for the Washington State Department of Revenue for more than 30 years. He was a fun-loving and compassionate man who enjoyed woodworking (boats and furniture), fishing, and whistling. He is survived by his son, Michael Sorensen (Karla) and grandchildren, Krysta, Kylee and Davin; daughter, Mary Sorensen; daughter, Rita (Tammy) Sorensen, and grandchildren, Devin, Dillon, and Leah. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Lois Kay Sorensen. Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98051.
