Robert Verne Crooker

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) V Crooker announces his passing after a brief illness, on Friday, May 4th at the age of 79 years. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Debbie (and her husband Edgar), Mike, and Tricia. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Katie, Alicia, Ashley, Molly, Abby, Emily and Justin, and two great-grandsons. Bob was the much loved only child of Harold and Catharine Crooker. Born and raised in Tacoma Washington, he graduated from Clover Park High School, worked at Boeing as a machinist in the tool and cutter grind shop for 38 years, and was in the Naval Air Reserve. He was never idle. While working at Boeing and raising his children, he also owned and operated a small commercial raspberry farm in Puyallup, Washington. He spent any spare time fishing, hunting and always had a big garden. He loved wine making and square dancing. He spent his retirement years doing what he loved - splitting time between his homes in Tacoma and Vashon - he tended to his large gardens, did woodworking projects, and was a great handyman and kept very busy doing all sorts of projects . He also made sure to drive down to Arizona at least yearly to visit his daughter, Debbie and her family. We will all miss him very much. A Celebration of Bob ’ s life will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, May 19th, at the Lakeview Chapel, 4606 - 108th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Reception gathering after the service in the same location.
