Edward J. McDonald, 81, passed away in Punta Gorda on January 25, 2018. He was born in New Kensington, PA. on March 11, 1936. Ed was the County Surveyor for Charlotte County for 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marilyn, as well as four children; Jack McDonald (Karen), Kailua, Hawaii, Mike McDonald (Noemi) , Fort Myers, FL. Carol Buchanan (Bobby), Homestead, FL. and Peggy Herlihy (Jim), Beech Island, SC. There will be a Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 211 W. Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda on Friday, Feb. 2 at 11:00 AM, followed by inurnment and reception at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Heart Association. Pay respects at www.charlottememorial.com.
