Sharon Lee Price

Sharon Lee (Huebner) Price, age 77, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on March 25, 2018. Sharon was born on March 2, 1941 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She was the only child to Joseph and Pearl Huebner. She graduated as valedictorian at Aquinas High School, and attended Marquette University, graduating with a BS degree in Education (English and Latin). While at Marquette, she was active in the Eta Sigma Phi, National Honorary Classical Fraternity, met Galen Price and they married in 1963. Galen was a U.S. Naval Supply Corps officer stationed on the East coast and they moved to Virginia. Following military service in 1967 they moved to the south suburbs of Chicago where they raised their five children in the Homewood Flossmoor School District. They moved to Racine, Wisconsin for Galen's job in 1987, where they lived until their retirement and move to Punta Gorda, Florida. Sharon loved being a Mom above all and was very involved in her children's education and activities. She was a substitute teacher in both the Flossmoor, llinois and Racine, Wisconsin school systems. Sharon loved her family and enjoyed traveling to their children's homes across the nation. While enroute she made a point of reconnecting and visiting their many high school and college friends. For the last 18 years she has been blessed with many friends in the Seminole Lakes Community. She managed her Tuesday morning nine holes golf group at Seminole Lakes Country Club, managed the neighborhood read and return library, and kept very active with book club, Bridge, Bunco, and having various evening dinner groups outings with many friends. She participated with Galen as a member of the Peace River Sail and Power Squadron. At Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was a member of the Emmaus group, and participated with Galen in the many Knights of Columbus activities. Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the sweetest person to everyone, was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Sharon leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Galen Price; daughter Kimberly Zwerver and husband Jan of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter Deborah Rossmiller and husband Mark of Apollo Beach, Florida; son Galen Price III and wife Nancy of Schererville, Indiana; son Scott Price and wife Tracy of Flower Mound, Texas; and Christopher Price of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was blessed with grandchildren Nick and Hanna Zwerver; Austin, Brent and Jack Rossmiller; Ryan, Justin and Maddie Price (Galen III); Jake, Katelyn and Kylie Price(Scott); and Lily Price(Chris). Viewing will take place Monday, April 2 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home. On Tuesday, April 3, a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by Interment at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30 PM and then a Celebration of Sharon's Life from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Seminole Lakes Clubhouse.
