Alfonso Pestana

Dr. Alfonso Pestana, 89, died at his home in Arcadia with his loving wife Audrey C. Pestana by his side on May 24, 2018. He was born in Pijirigua, En Artemisa, Cuba on October 30, 1928. Alfonso worked for the State of Florida for 20 years between Chattahoochee Mental Hospital and G. Pierce Wood in Arcadia. He retired in 2000. Alfonso is survived by his wife Audrey and one son, Abraham Pestana. Also surviving is a granddaughter Samantha Markey, step-son Dwight C. Smith (Mae), step-daughter Tammy Smith, sister Aleida Gonzales (Rafael), brother Alfredo Pestana (Maryanna), cousins Carlos and Luly Palomo and life-long friends Yebra and Yolanda Flavio. Alfonso is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Angela and Abraham Pestana, daughter Jennifer Markey and brothers Armando.
