Robert William Brooks
June 14th, 1958 - September 16th, 2018
Robert William Brooks “Bob”, age 60, passed away peacefully to Heaven on Sunday, September 16, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Bob was a brave Prized Fighter for 3 years against an aggressive terminal cancer never losing his optimism, thirst for life, adventure and love for God and his Family. Bob was a jack-of-all-trades, one of the last of his kind, but one of his greatest prides was his 32-year dedication to his company Brooks Trucking and the Trucking Industry. There wasn’t anything Bob couldn’t do... whether it was working on cars, trucks, construction, re-building many things over the course of his life; he always did it with determination and true passion. He graduated from Tech/Trade College in the early 70’s, which ignited his passion for Trucks/Cars and over time he became a self-taught master mechanic and a true jack-of-all-trades. Bob was always happiest, when he was out on the Puget Sound or out on a body of water in any type of the various Boats’ and even a Ship he owned for a short while. He either loved something that would go fast or something that had plenty of room to host family and friends. Bob was always the life of the party, the guy that made everyone laugh, if you needed help; he’d help, if you needed to be shown how to do something or bounce ideas, Bob was your guy. He lived his life with respect and decency and enjoyed it greatly when he was able to help others that were in need. His loving wife survives him, Carol Ann Brooks married in January of 2016 after caring selflessly for Bob for over 3 years while he fought like the warrior that he was, we are all forever indebted. Also surviving are: son Adam Brooks, daughter Jamie Wilson and son Matthew Jones, sisters Michele Brooks and Suzanne Redmon, brother Jim Kilpatrick and 11 grandchildren. His parents, Albert “Bill” Brooks and Carol Ann Hollister, preceded him in death within the last 6 years. He also leaves behind a beautiful faithful companion, his horse, Duke. A private spreading of his remains will take place next month, in late October. Bob will return home to his favorite spot out on the Puget Sound, followed by a Sunset Dinner with Family and close Friends at a nearby Restaurant (details to come). Because, Bob had such a generous servant’s heart…. to honor Bob, we have found an Organization with a great cause that we know Bob would be proud for us to help in his honor. In lieu of Flowers we are asking that Donations be made in Bob’s name to: “St. Christopher – Truckers Relief Fund”. The Trucker’s Relief Fund helps those Truckers and they’re Families in time of dire need. Bob spent over 32 faithful years in the Trucking Industry mainly in the Northwest, but also throughout the Country and he’d be honored to know other Truckers were being helped in his name. https://truckersfund.org Arrangements by Edwards Memorial, Funerals Homes, Chapels and Crematories. 253-566-1008
