John participated in local football and baseball teams where he showed great talent as a football quarterback and a pitcher on the local little league baseball team. In 1974 the family moved to Lovettsville Virginia where John attended Loudon Valley High School. He continued to pursue his love of football and baseball but music and playing the guitar did shine through as something he really loved. John was a very accomplished lead guitar player. John played in several bands with friends through high school. Those who knew John in high school knew him to be adventurous and fun and also a truly dedicated friend. In his early twenties John started working in the culinary industry and worked in several restaurants around the Washington D.C. area. This work led him to pursue work in Marco Island Florida. John had a brief marriage and during that time he had his first child John W. Hough IV. Sadly John W. passed away tragically from SIDS . John moved to the Punta Gorda area of South Florida where he met and Married his wife Millie in 1995. Most of Johns life in Florida was spent as a lead guitar player and singer in his band called Johnny and the blues expression. The band was quite successful and had a strong following in Florida. The band also opened for larger acts that toured the U.S. including Rick Springfield. John gave up performing with the band in 2001 to attend Edison college in South Florida to become a registered nurse. He graduated at the top of his class.
