Kathleen Mary Scholz
June 2nd, 1930 - October 20th, 2020
Kathleen Mary Scholz passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 90 years old. Kay was born in County Sligo, Ireland, and immigrated to the United States when she married the late William J. Scholz in 1957. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Winifred (Milton) Moffatt. She is predeceased by her sisters, Bridie (Bridget Agnes) Taylor, Freddie (Winifred) Ryan, Teresa Cameron, and Miriam Holland; and her brother, Frank (Anthony Frances) Moffatt. Kay travelled the world with her husband of 60 years, United States Air Force Technical Sergeant (retired) Bill Scholz, and their children. She loved to tend her beautiful garden, help the less fortunate through her church activities, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered by all who met and knew her, especially her friends and colleagues from her long career as a manager with the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES.) She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Mark and Dawn Scholz and Caroline and David Jones; her grandchildren and their spouses, Ken and Jenna Scholz, Candace and Patrick Hammer, Katie and Jake Kuhns, and Kevin Jones; and her great grandchildren, Delia Scholz and Killian Scholz. A private celebration of her life was held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
