Carol Jean Mize

Carol Jean Mize passed away of natural causes on April 10, 2021, in Olympia, Washington. She was born October 3, 1932, to Lillian and Russell Wright in Oak Forest, Illinois. Carol graduated from Thornton Township High School in Illinois. She married James M. Mize on December 21, 1954 at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a military wife, she lived all over the world. While at Ft. Lewis, she was the Logistics Center Chief of Supply and Services. She also was a member of the North Thurston Kiwanis Club. Carol was graceful, always upbeat and positive, caring, and loving. She was reliable, very organized and The Family Rock! She loved being with her family, gardening, reading, and playing Mah Jong. She is survived by her son, Russell F. Mize, and his wife, Patti; daughters, Karen Bermermann and Lorena Mize; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Wright; and sisters, Darlene Larson and Janice K. Wright. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, James Mize, who passed away October 20, 1989. Memorial donations may be made to the North Thurston Kiwanis Club, PO Box 5607, Olympia, WA 98509.
