Patricia Ann Kramer

Patricia Ann (Klos) Kramer closed her eyes for the last time on January 8, 2021, in Spokane, Washington, due to heart failure. With her went a shining light of kindness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and love. Pat glowed with a positive energy that swept up those around her. She faced all of life’s challenges with grace and dignity and always had a warm smile and caring hand to give to others. People felt welcomed and accepted by her genuine smile and encouraging words. Pat’s light first shined on July 23, 1933, in Wichita, Kansas. She moved with her parents, Wesley and Lila Klos, and two brothers, Don, who preceded her in death, and Rich (Cheryl) Klos, to Fircrest, Washington, in the early 1940s. Pat met A. Ludlow Kramer while working in Leroy’s jewelry store in Tacoma. She and Lud spent a couple of hours talking as Lud selected a cocktail ring for his girlfriend who lived on the East Coast. He went east to see his girlfriend and, instead of giving her the ring, ended the relationship and returned to court Pat. They married in November 1955. Lud preceded Pat in death in 2004. Pat is survived by four children and their families: Mary (Kenji) Higuchi of Spokane, Bill (Cathi) Kramer of Big Lake, Alaska, Ann (David) Vey of Leavenworth, and John (Helen) Kramer of Olympia. Pat was a steady mother who encouraged her children to grow and prosper as individuals. Pat was also a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Justin, Kelsey, Kyle, Kevin, Megan, Scott, Cullen, and Genevieve. They and her ten great-grandchildren were lucky indeed. A private service will be held July 23, 2021.
