Aleitha I Bailey
August 29th, 1934 - April 10th, 2020
Aleitha was born to Irene Forbes and Arthur Sandies in Moriah, Tobago on August 29, 1934. Sadly, she passed in San Antonio, Texas on April 10, 2020. Aleitha married George Bailey at a young age; however, this union did not last, so she migrated to London, England to pursue advanced education and opportunity for better employment. While in England, she continued her education and shortly after her arrival, she became a Midwife. After a few years of enduring the extreme cold weather in England, Aleitha decided to move to Brooklyn, New York. Aleitha kept sight of her goal in advanced education, therefore while in New York, she obtained her master’s degree and worked for the Methodist Hospital System as a Registered Nurse for many years. Upon retirement, she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, back to a climate closer to her early years. Aleitha is survived by two sisters; Majorie Manning and Maurice Alexander both of Trinidad and Tobago three children; Hollis Wilson of London, England, Alyson Winley of San Antonio, Texas, Hayes Bailey of Brooklyn, New York and their wives and husband. Also left to grieve are her five grandchildren; Indija Gilbert-Wilson of London, England, Marcus Pressley of Columbus, Ohio, Jaleesa Derrickson of Arlington, Virginia, Precious Winley of Killeen, Texas and Lakia Johnson of Brooklyn, New York and their husbands and wife. Aleitha also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, a few close friends and a wonderful church family who loved her dearly.
