Christopher Gilby Martin

On February 10, 2022, our family lost a son, brother and uncle when Christopher Gilby Martin passed away in Olympia, Washington, due to a fast but hard-fought battle with osteosarcoma. He passed peacefully in the night and now is pain free. Chris had a challenging life that he navigated through with the help and support of family all the way. That love and support made big, positive efforts in managing his struggles and helping him celebrate his successes. He was very articulate and concerned about others’ feelings, and just wanted to have good friendly relationships. Chris, you are loved so much. We love you with all our hearts. Chris was born December 22, 1968, to Claudia Diane Craig and Don Robert Martin in Olympia. A graduate of Olympia High School, he loved animals, especially his cat, Tommy, who was his constant companion. He is survived by his father, Don Martin of Olympia; mother, Diane Craig of Olympia; brothers, Rob Martin of Freeland, Washington, and Dan Martin of Tumwater, Washington; four nieces, Saylor Martin, Olivia Martin, Emily Martin, and Siena Martin; and a nephew, Landon Martin. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
