Ruth Audrey Martin

Ruth Audrey Martin (Redford) Ruth Audrey Martin was born on May 15, 1928 to Lyman and Edith Redford in Tacoma, Washington. She passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020 at the age of 92 with her family by her side. She attended Auburn Academy, graduating in 1945, then went on to Walla Walla College where she met her future husband, David E. Martin. They were married on September 25, 1949 and made the first part of their life together in California. They moved back to Tacoma where Ruth spent the rest of her life. Together they raised their 4 daughters. Ruth worked as an optical assistant and church secretary while raising her 4 daughters. Later in her career she worked as a medical secretary. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Edith Redford, her sister, Pat, her brother, Bill, her husband, David E. Martin and her oldest granddaughter, Danielle Renee Huffman (Murphy). She is survived by her daughters: Connie Irene Murphy, Carol Sue Harris (Edward), Claudia Marie Chapman (Jack) and Celia Louise Manna’a. Ruth is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many many friends and extended family. She loved spending time with all her family and friends. She was a loving, caring person and always had a smile on her face and she will be greatly missed. Although we are heartbroken over the loss of our mother and friend, we take comfort knowing she is resting in peace and no longer hurting. Her greatest wish was that we all be together again one day.
