Steven Raymond Williams
January 3rd, 1947 - October 27th, 2020
Steven Raymond Williams, 73, of Algona, WA passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2020 after a long battle with multiple illnesses. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Della and Charles Williams, brother Charles Williams, and sister, Sharon Orr. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen Williams, his son, Charles Williams (Traci Williams), and his daughter, Stephanie Williams (Charles Speece). Steve also leaves behind his 3 amazing grandchildren Elysse, Marley, and Beau. Additionally, Steve is survived by his sister, Sandra, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his sweet dog, Allie. Steve was born in Spokane, WA. He went into the Marine Corps at age 19 and served 2 tours during the Vietnam War. He was a helicopter crew chief on CH-46 helicopters, earning several honors including a Bronze Star Medal. Steve had a long career in the electrical trades, holding several different roles as a traveling journeyman electrician throughout the United States. He later worked with the Washington State Department of Corrections as a union representative. One of Steve’s proudest accomplishments was earning his BA in Business Administration at age 45, from the University of Washington in 1992 alongside his son. In his younger days, Steve loved playing and coaching softball. He also spent time with friends camping and boating. Steve thoroughly enjoyed time with his family, who he considered to be his biggest blessing from the Lord. He liked vacationing in sunny Mexico, and cruising in the Bahamas. He also made a few trips to attend Marine Corps reunions with his wife. One of Steve’s favorite pastimes was cheering on the University of Washington Husky football and softball teams. GO DAWGS! But, most of all he loved watching his grandchildren grow up. He was a charismatic and charming man who people were drawn to. He was highly intelligent, took pride in a job well done, and was good at almost everything. Steve was known for his compassion and generosity towards others, often sacrificing for those less fortunate. He enjoyed bonding with friends and family over a delicious meal, while telling stories and cracking jokes. Steve’s quick wit and sense of humor were unmatched. His relentless teasing was a trademark that “built character” among his family members. Steve will be missed dearly. However, his family finds comfort in knowing he is in heaven watching over them. We love you… Steve – Dad – Papa – Brother – Uncle – Cousin – Friend Always proud of his time in the Marine Corps he will be honored with an intimate military service at Tahoma National Cemetery on November 13, 2020.
