Donald E. Searles passed away on April 11, 2023, in Olympia, Washington. He was born on May 10, 1941, to Leroy Donald and Mabel Hester (Shaffer) Searles in La Grande, Oregon. He was a 40-year resident of Shelton, Washington. Don served in the U.S. Army for 11 years, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and married Roberta Fitzgerald on March 3, 1970, in the Salt Lake City Utah temple. Don held many jobs in his career, with the final one working for the State of Washington. He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Searles of Shelton; daughters, Angela Atkinson (husband, Bryon), LeAnne Rodeback (husband, Chris), Stephanie Hanks (husband, Robert), Diana Dass (husband, Anil); son, Brandon Searles; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Donna Allessio and Karen Searles. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 916 N 12th St., Shelton, WA 98584. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
