James Birchenough

We regretfully announce the passing of James Birchenough, 71, of Punta Gorda, FL., on March 23, 2023. James was born on November 2, 1951 to Eleanor & William Birchenough in Paterson, New Jersey. He married the love of his life, Bonita Birchenough on February 16, 1973, celebrated 50 wonderful years together, had two children, and 5 grandchildren. James was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. James was unendingly proud of his family and always tried his best to support them. Anyone who knew James, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. James was also passionate about fishing, drinking, scratch offs, & trips to the casino. He worked as an Air Conditioning Supervisor at Sunshine Air of Charlotte County for 16 years. James was predeceased by his Mother Eleanor Slater, Father William Birchenough, sister Florence, sister Arlene, and brother William. He is survived by wife Bonita, son James Travis(Lauren), daughter Lena(Chris), his grandchildren Nathan, Kiersten, Eleanor, Karlee, & James, his brothers Joe, Arthur, Nelson, Richard, his sisters Eleanor, Ellen, & Sandra. James’ service will be April 1st, 10am at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Celebration of life will follow at the Birchenough residence 5429 Fairway Dr S. Punta Gorda, Fl 33982.
