Richard "Rick" Jensen
February 16th, 1947 - November 19th, 2023
Richard “Rick” Jensen passed away November 19, 2023, in Centralia, Washington. He was born February 16, 1947, to Svend and Jean Jensen in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He resided in Tenino, Washington, for the past 17 years. Rick served in the U.S. Air Force and joined the Washington State Patrol in 1968. He retired as Deputy Chief in October of 1993. He immediately began his second career as President of Government Relations Services, retiring in 2020. Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy, son, Rick Jensen Jr.; daughters, Lauralee Klingler and Tina Lucas; stepson, Ben Coon; stepdaughter, Jody Coon. Rick & Kathy shared 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Jensen; and sister, Judy Naylor. Rick was an avid golfer, loyal friend, a lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers fan and devoted dog lover. He spent many hours on his tractor at “The Ranch” in Tenino, enjoying every minute of the country life. Services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club, 5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
